Arrests for attempted murder and conspiracy in investigation into Fishponds stabbing

THREE more people have been arrested over a stabbing attack in Fishponds which left a 17-year-old boy fighting for his life.

The trio, all teenagers, are being held in custody after being arrested by Avon and Somerset police, it was announced today.

A 16-year-old boy and a man aged 18 have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, while a girl of 16 has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

The arrests all relate to an attack on a 17-year-old boy in Ridgeway Road on Friday, in which the victim was stabbed several times at about 8pm.

A police spokesperson said: "He was taken to hospital where he continues to receive treatment and remains in a stable condition."

The spokesperson said that an 18-year-old woman arrested over the weekend on suspicion of conspiracy to murder has been released under investigation.

Police enquiries are still underway and any witnesses who have not yet come forward are being asked to call 101, quoting the crime reference number 5221 031 520.
