Bristol Met's Sister Act will be the best bar nun...
BUDDING stars from Bristol Metropolitan Academy are putting the finishing touches to their latest production - which promises to be just heavenly.
The youngsters, renowned for their high quality and professional-like annual productions, will stage ‘Sister Act’ from November 28 to December 4.
The show features Deloris Van Cartier, a singer who hides in a convent disguised as a num after witnessing a murder.
The production will involve 80 cast members, aged 11-15, who are giving up their free time to hone their musical skills to ensure they offer an entertaining evening.
The boys and girls first gave the public a taste of the show when they performed some tunes from the musical at this year's Party in the Ponds, below.
Drama teacher Michelle Vince said: “Since our performance at Party In The Ponds everyone has been asking when our show will take place.
“We have staged the Lion King, Hairspray and Mary Poppins in recent years. The audience cannot get over the quality of our shows and cannot believe it is schoolchildren performing.
“Our drama GCSE students achieved 91 per cent grades 9 - 5 this year, which is phenomenal within the federation, so people can be assured of a great show.”
Tickets for the show, which will be held at the academy at 7pm, cost £5 and can be obtained by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or from student reception.
