THANKS to a hard-working group of people the cycle track running through Fishponds is looking much tidier now.

Men, women and youths from the East Bristol Partnership of local churches chose St George’s Day to pick up rubbish and litter from the cycle track.

THANKS to a hard-working group of people the cycle track running through Fishponds is looking much tidier now.
Men, women and youths from the East Bristol Partnership of local churches chose St George’s Day to pick up rubbish and litter from the cycle track.
The volunteers met at The Fish in Fishponds ready to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.
Amy Donaldson, East Bristol Partnership co-ordinator, said: “The group covered the area from the tunnel at Acacia Road to the bridge at the bottom of Ridgeway Road and filled about six black sacks in just over an hour from the rubbish that we could reach.
“It was good to be given thanks by many of the cyclists who passed us and it was great to spend this time together doing something for the community.
“Perhaps at a later date we can attempt more, especially where rubbish is behind fences. A productive day was had by all!”
