A MAN in his 60s has been left with head injuries and a broken arm following an aggravated burglary in St George.

A MAN in his 60s has been left with head injuries and a broken arm following an aggravated burglary in St George.

The incident took place at around 9.30pm on Friday November 18 when two men forced their way into a property in Whiteway Road and threatened a couple, both who are in their 60s.

The two men went onto seriously assault the man, leaving him with head injuries and a broken arm. His wife managed to escape the property and raise the alarm.

Det Sgt Nicholas Lawson, of Bristol Investigations, said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the couple, who were threatened in their own home.

“The man suffered some serious injuries during a sustained assault, but he’s been treated at hospital and has since been discharged.

“The offenders were wearing masks and hooded tops during the incident.

“They made off with four men’s gold chains, one with the Star of David on, a woman’s gold wedding ring and a handbag.

“If you are offered any items like this for sale, if you saw or heard anything suspicious in the Whiteway Road area that night, or if you saw two men running away from the scene, please call us as soon as possible.”
