BRISTOL’S Lord Mayor was on hand to cut the ribbon to open a new garden at the Happy Dayz Pre School in Fishponds.

Cllr Jeff Lovell joined pre school staff and their families, fellow councillors and the city council’s Early Years team in a special ceremony to declare the garden officially open.

The garden, funded by a council grant, has been completely transformed from previous wasteland.

It now boasts various tiers, decking area, outdoor log cabin, sensory garden, sunken sand pit, mud kitchen and planting areas with fruit trees.

Happy Dayz Pre School forms part of the Harry Crook Centre in Moorlands Road.
