Lottery win for Fishponds neighbours
FOUR neighbours are celebrating after winning a lottery windfall.
The neighbours in Clay Bottom each won £1,000 when their postcode, BS5 7HB, was announced as the daily prize winner of the People’s Postcode Lottery on September 27.
People's Postcode Lottery is a subscription lottery which raises money for charities.
Players sign up, enter their postcode and pay £10 per month to take part.
They are automatically entered into a draw every day of the month, with prizes ranging from £10 to a share in a £3 million monthly draw.
There are £1,000 daily jackpots, such as the one won by the Clay Bottom residents.
A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities, and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £600 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.
The draw won by the Clay Bottom residents was promoted on behalf of Canal & River Trust, which has received more than £10 million from players.
The trust looks after 2,000 miles of canals and rivers across England and Wales.
Local charities can apply for funding when the next round opens next year.
