Pedestrian carrying two-year-old boy is knocked down in road
POLICE are appealing for the driver of a car to come forward after a man who was carrying a two-year-old boy across a road in Fishponds was knocked down.
The incident happened on Forest Road, near the junction with Lodge Causeway, at about 5.15pm yesterday.
Police say the 53-year-old man "was found to have suffered a significant head injury, described as life-threatening".
The boy suffered minor injuries.
The car driver stopped at first but then left the scene and police believe he may not have realised how badly injured the man was.
Avon and Somerset police said the car involved was a dark grey estate, and also want to hear from witnesses or anyone else who believes they have information about the collision.
Detective Inspector James Wasiak said: “We’re appealing for the driver of the car to get in touch with us.
"He did initially stop at the scene, but the extent of the injury to the man may not have been apparent at the time.
“If this was you, please get in touch.
"If you witnessed this collision, or have any other information about the driver or the vehicle, please also get in touch.”
Anyone who can help should call 101 and quote the crime reference number 5220 262 327.
