Police want to trace man who tried to help teenage robbery victim on cycle path
POLICE are trying to trace a man who shouted at three youths who robbed a 15-year-old boy of his bike on the Bristol and Bath Railway Path.
The incident happened at Clay Bottom, near the rear of the Rajani superstore on the Fishponds Trading Estate.
The victim had a red and silver Giant Boulder mountain bike stolen during the robbery, which happened at around 5pm on November 25.
Avon and Somerset police released details today, as they appealed for the man to come forward.
A spokesperson said: "The victim remembers an elderly man present at the scene who shouted at the three suspects. We’ve not been able to identify him so far."
Officers are calling on the man to call them on 101, quoting the crime reference number 5220 266 132.
They say the suspects were all in their mid to late teens and all dressed in black clothing.
One was Asian, about 5ft 8in tall, slim, and had his hood up and a balaclava on. He was wearing Adidas tracksuit bottoms with three white lines.
The second was also Asian, about 5ft 10in tall, and also wore a balaclava.
The third was black, about 5ft 7in tall, and wore a black jacket.
