YEAR 6 pupils from Gracefield School in Fishponds donned protective gear and tried their hand at graffiti painting.

Supervised by local graffiti artist Steve Fitzpatrick, the children used spray cans to create their names in specialist paint as part of an art workshop.

Steve used his artistic skills to transform Gracefield’s playground walls, creating a woodland scene to complement their new playground equipment, alongside a jungle theme, complete with a traverse climbing wall and a sports scene with goalposts and cricket stumps.

Headteacher Elizabeth Morgan said: "We are delighted with the new playground at Gracefield. The walls are now vibrant and exciting, perfectly complimenting our new play equipment. Steve has created a great place for the children to play and our older pupils had a lot of fun learning how to paint using this different art technique."

Steve is part of a local group of professional graffiti artists collectively known as Graffarty.
