Sixth arrest over stabbing of teenage boy in Fishponds street
A SIXTH person has been arrested by police investigating the stabbing of a teenager in a Fishponds street.
The latest person to be held is a 16-year-old boy, who was arrested last night on suspicion of attempted murder and was in custody today.
A police investigation was launched after a 17-year-old boy suffered a number of stab wounds in Ridgeway Road at about 8pm last Friday.
He was taken to hospital where his condition was initially described as "critical but stable". It has since improved to "stable", say police.
A man aged 18 and a 16-year-old boy were still in police custody today after being arrested on suspicion of attempted murder earlier yesterday.
A 16-year-old girl is also in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, while an 18-year-old woman arrested for the same offence has been released under investigation.
Another person arrested and released without charge over the weekend will face no further police action is planned.
