Two boys arrested after teenager suffers knife wounds in Hillfields

TWO teenage boys have been arrested after another teenager suffered knife wounds in Hillfields.

Police say they were called to reports of altercation at the junction of Beechen Drive and Forest Avenue, above, shortly before 6.15pm on Monday.

An Avon and Somerset force spokesperson said: "A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with injuries believed to have been caused by a knife.

"Thankfully, his injuries were minor and he has since been discharged."

The police spokesperson said two other boys, aged 15 and 16, were arrested in connection with the incident and have since been released on bail.

He added: “Officers have conducted house to house enquiries and are reviewing CCTV while we've increased patrols in the area to provide reassurance to the local community."

The two boys who were arrested must return to a police station on September 26, when they will be told what further action police will take.

Officers have called on anyone who witnessed the incident but has not yet come forward, or who has information they believe could help the investigation, to call 101 and quote the crime reference number 5219 202 459.
